Amoxicilin

I feel like my fridge has a never ending supply. Triston had an ear infection last week, now Nika has double ear infections, and I just found out I have Strep again for the third time since November! What the heck! The only good thing is I have finally gotten over my problem swallowing huge pills. Chalk it up to all the practice I have had lately!

President's Day Hike

So on President's Day the family decided to go for a hike. About 5 miles down the road we are lucky enough to have the Phoenix International Raceway. Close enough to enjoy, far enough to not hear the noise. It is nestled in the mountains and there is a small hill that overlooks it that we decided to hike.
This view was just a few minutes into the hike but we are already pretty high.
There is the P.I.R.
There was this huge cactus and to better show you it's height I had the kids stand next to it.The view going up.
Almost to the top. Jed snapped a great family picture!
The view looking down the path we just walked up, and the wilderness to the south of us.

Jed's GQ shot, (our house is north of that river you see. )
On the top of the hill was this stone cross thing, or maybe more of a compass since it pointed north, south east, and west. Anyhow Liam really liked it!Sometimes it is uncanny how much Liam reminds me of Triston. They have a lot of the same mannerisms. This is one of them. I have a picture of Triston doing this exact pose. One finger in the air. Like he is saying "Listen, what's that!" Don't you love that little belly poking out!
And finally it is my little Karate Kid Triston. Which is fitting since he and Anja both started taking TaeKwonDo lessons.
Anyhow it was a nice start to our President's Day

The End to President's Day

This is Esther's ankle
This is Esther's ankle on "trampoline"
Any questions?

Probably alot right.... After we got back from our hike we were all playing on the trampoline. We were all wrestling and having fun when suddenly it looked like Ben was going to land on me. So I raised my leg to protect myself and instead of doing that I ended up with all of Ben's weight landing on my knee and ankle and my ankle rolled. At first I thought it was broken but after X-rays it seems to be just a bad sprain! I don't know if you can really see how swollen and green it is in the picture, but trust me it wasn't pretty. *laugh*

Out of the mouth of Nika

We were making lunch and Nika picks a booger out of her nose. I tell her go in the bathroom and get a tissue, Ben chimes in with "And Don't eat it!" She looks at her finger and replies “but it tastes so good.”
Then a couple of Sunday's ago Nika was sitting on Ben's lap during Sacrament Meeting she wipes wipes her wet fingers on his lips.He says "EWW! I don’t want your slobber on my lips”, she replies” It’s not slobber it’s from my nose.” Luckily she later told him she was just kidding.
And finally we were changing Nika out of PJ dress one morning and Liam started to put it on. So laughing we helped him put it on. Nika takes one look at him and says in an exasperated tone " He looks like a Queen!" Now Ben and I knew what she meant but we had to laugh at her choice of description.

Valentines Bah Humbug

Ok So I am not the worlds most enthusiastic woman when it comes to Valentines Day. I don't celebrate it and I thought that was OK. Well now I have children and I realize that while I might find the holiday to be a huge commercial ploy to guilt us into spending tons of cash on items that will last less then a week, my children are excited about it. So being the good mommy that I am I have given in and will at least pretend to like the holiday for them. Now don't get me wrong, I have no problem celebrating love in general I just think it is totally unromantic to get something for your loved one on this day. Any other day and the gesture would be amazing, on Valentine's it just comes across as pressured and unoriginal. Anyhow so I decided to make some home made cards for the kids classmates this year. I had seen this really cute craft in a magazine and thought I would go for it. Well it was a bit more time consuming then I thought but this was the final product.

I wrote "You Color my World" or "My heat melts for you!" Or my favorite "Be Mine, For Crayon out loud!"
The kids loved it and it was nice to give their classmates something other than candy.

Park Day Fun

Went to the park last month with everyone. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

And just to prove I was there too...
